Stoyan Nikolov Madzharov

Stoyan Nikolov Madzharov, born 1946, is an associate professor at the Faculty of Business and Management at the University of Rousse, Bulgaria. Since 1995 he lectures on the management of critical situations (e.g. disasters, crisis, breakdown), on business diagnosis and on audiovisual technologies in education. From 1990 to 1995 Madzharov served as vice-dean of the university's postgraduate center.

The University of Rousse was established in 1954 and is the successor of the first national higher technical school outside Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. Today more than 6000 students attend the university's courses in the fields of technology, the humanities, management and economics.

Madzharov finished a technical college in Rousse (1965), received a master degree as mechanical engineer (1971) and a Ph.D. in the field of agriculture mechanization (1989). Since 1999 he is an associate professor.

Madzharov took part in several scientific conferences and published more than 40 articles on the management of critical situations. In addition to that he served as a nuclear operator at the nuclear power station 'Kozlodui', Bulgaria, for five years.
